Services
The cooperation of a variety of community agencies make the Essential Health Clinic possible (see the People page). Each week, physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurses and other medical professionals volunteer their time to offer free urgent medical care to patients in need.

We are able to treat uninsured patients suffering from any of the following:

  • Acute infections (ears, eyes, skin, bladder etc)
  • Fevers
  • Recent onset of acute pain
  • Serious cough, cold, congestion
  • Rashes
  • Asthma
  • Gastric distress
  • Minor burns
  • Minor injuries (sprains)
  • Medication refills (after consult with clinician)

We can also provide:

  • Screenings for people with symptoms of diabetes, hypertension and other chronic conditions
  • Patient education to promote greater understanding of medical conditions and reduce the incidence of complications
  • Referrals to other community healthcare resources

Services Not Provided
The clinic is not set up to provide:

  • General physical exams
  • Immunizations
  • Management of previously diagnosed chronic ailments
  • Care for long term ailments of many years duration (i.e. low back pain)
  • Treatment for depression or anxiety, unless acute
  • Prenatal care
  • Emergency or trauma care (refered immediately to Tuality ED)
