Estimates indicates that over 16.5% of Washington County residents - over 82,000 people - have no medical insurance.
Each week it takes a minimum of 40-50 volunteers to operate our two clinics. An average of 284 patients are seen with 64 more receiving medical advice or referral information each month.

What We Do
The Essential Health Clinic (EHC) is the only facility offering free urgent health care to uninsured individuals and families in Washington County. We accept walk-in patients Monday and Thursday evenings in Hillsboro and provide medical services free of charge to appropriate clients. Volunteer time and donations of money, lab service, and pharmaceuticals keep the clinic in operation.
